Patti and PS1 rock the Rock!

3 Apr

rbco_ps1_dome_patti_smith

It’s quite a coincidence that our old frankenstill resides a few blocks from the Rockaway surf beach, and our new brew house sits in the shadow of the MoMA PS1 building. Who would have guessed that these two locales would have such a strong connection? But here PS1 surprises us again …

“Rockaway Beach, a Queens neighborhood hit hard by Hurricane Sandy in October, is still rough around the edges. Five months later, houses near the water look abandoned, and the boardwalk is still in shambles. But weary residents received some great news on Friday, when they arrived at MoMa PS1’s VW Dome 2 next to the beach to see what was promoted as “a special performance”: Patti Smith was the star of the show.” – Huffington Post
